Driver Education at Westwood High is taught by Michael Towle,
a teacher with  over thirty-five years of teaching experience. Classes begin in both September and January. Classroom sessions are held Tuesday evenings (3 hours) or Tuesday & Thursday afternoons (4 hours) per week.

Students must be least 15 years and 9 months of age to begin this course. The classroom number will be announced several weeks before classes begin. Registration forms should be picked up in the main office or by contacting DTC at (781) 762-5500.

One week classroom sessions are also available to Westwood students during school vacation periods. One week courses meet at the DTC office at 877 Washington Street in Norwood. Weekly sessions are held from 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. for 5 days.

Students that have had their learner's permit for at least 2 months and have paid in full may schedule driving lessons. Students are required to have their learner's permit in good standing for six months before taking a license test. Students are picked up and dropped off for driving lessons on the street side near handicapped pick-up area at Westwood High.

DTC sponsors over 90% of students for their license test. There is an additional charge for this service. The required parents' class is held at the DTC office in Norwood. The cost of this session is included in the Westwood driver ed. fees.
